How long does it take to make a pen? How did you get started making wood pens? With 6 children, when do you HAVE TIME TO MAKE PENS???
I hear these over and over again from people at work, visitors at crafts fairs and just people I meet while out and about. Well, it takes me a couple of hours to make a really nice pen. A little longer for antler, which you will see in the following pages. I got started when a good friend form church invited my son and me over to his shop to watch him make a "wood pen". After watching him for a few hours, I was hooked. Just what I needed, another hobby! As for time, if you order a pen, I find the time.
The following pages are offered as a small glimps into the the way that I make pens. I have learned alot from my friend, alot from other friends I've met via the Internet and alot just be trial and error.
